Time is a treasure

It is clear to all of us that life is short. We don’t know for how long it will last, so we need to make a good use of our time, get all the juice as possible from life. But it seems many times that we have not understood the message well.

It is clear to all of us that life is short. We don’t know for how long it will last, so we need to make a good use of our time, get all the juice as possible from life. But it seems many times that we have not understood the message well.

We see it every day: traffic jams in the cities, drivers in a hurry sounding horns; executives running through their companies’ corridors, eating in 15 minutes, coming home late at night, all to make more money; parents almost dragging their children on the street, because they are late somewhere. And unfortunately, quite often we are the desperate driver, the stressed worker, the anxious parent. Is this really a good use of our time? Or it is completely the opposite?

Time is the biggest treasure of our lives, much more important than any other treasure we can think of. If what we want is to be happy, let’s use our time in a way that makes us happy. Logically, we have obligations to fulfill and needs to cover, but not as many as to not be able to take our time, every day for a while. Let’s take a little time to our own business: our loved ones, our hobbies, our pleasures. Let’s also take time to do nothing: learn to get happily bored, that’s a big challenge. Frequently, great ideas come from boredom.

Let’s enjoy our time, using it for our own and everybody’s joy. Thus our treasure will stay safe.
