Asperger syndrome is an autism spectrum disorder that affects between 3 and 7 per 1000 children in the world. Children who suffer this syndrome often have difficulties with social interaction, and they see communication and empathy in a pretty different way tan the rest of people, which makes their social integration hard. If, in addition, they are (like Iñaki is) exceptionally gifted children (IQ 150 , a quotient that only 1% of the population has), the difficulty is even greater.

Andrea Lamount, photographer and filmmaker, met Iñaki two years ago, and was immediately fascinated by his words and mental clarity. So she decided to film a documentary about him. She became his shadow, with her camera and microphone by hand. She discovered, for example, Iñaki’s theories about the Big Bang, but also his fears and his difficulties in school integration.

Still with doubts about the script of the film, Andrea asked her friends and family what they would like to know about someone like Iñaki. Almost unintendedly, the subject of the documentary was set: ” What would you ask Inaki?”. A social media campaign was started (#AskInaki ), where anyone interested could ask Iñaki about his concerns and worldview. The most significant questions from all received were chosen to be part of the documentary, entitled “Through me”. At this moment, the film is being edited.

We want to help spreading this wonderful project, and collaborate in as much awareness and dissemination as possible. You can visit “Through me” page in Facebook for further information. Together we can help Iñaki and many other children find their place in society.
